Why We Use Claude as Our Default — And When We Don't

TL;DR: We default to Claude because it produces better writing, follows instructions more reliably, and is safer for customer-facing deployments. We switch to GPT-5 for coding and Gemini for Google Workspace teams. We're not paid by Anthropic — this is based on deployment results.

We're not an Anthropic partner. No commission, no referral fee, no discount. We recommend Claude because it consistently produces the best results for what our clients need most.

But we're not absolutists.

## Why Claude Is Our Default

### Writing Quality

Most business AI involves writing: emails, proposals, reports, customer responses, marketing. Claude's writing is meaningfully better than every other model. Not marginally — meaningfully. A Claude sales proposal reads like a senior team member wrote it. Same prompt in GPT-5 reads like AI.

### Instructions Stick

We give agents detailed instructions: brand voice, conversation boundaries, escalation rules, topic restrictions. Claude follows these more reliably than anything else. Every customer-facing interaction is a brand touchpoint. The agent can't go off-script.

### Safety Profile

More conservative by default. Less likely to generate harmful content, make up facts confidently, or create liability. For healthcare, finance, professional services — conservatism is a feature.

## When We Choose Something Else

### GPT-5 for Engineering

Primary use case is code generation, technical docs, or developer productivity → GPT-5. Better code, more languages, better dev workflow integration.

### Gemini for Google-Native Teams

Operations live entirely in Google Workspace → Gemini for internal productivity. Native integration eliminates friction. For simple tasks, quality is good enough.

### Open-Source for High-Volume Simple Tasks

Massive volumes of document categorization, data extraction, sentiment classification → open-source models on client infrastructure. Per-query cost makes commercial APIs impractical at scale.

### Multi-Model Architectures

Most sophisticated deployments use multiple models. Claude for customer interactions. GPT-5 for technical analysis. Gemini for real-time research. Routing layer directs each query optimally.

## Frequently Asked Questions

Are you biased toward Claude? Biased toward results. If another model starts outperforming Claude, we'll switch. We've changed our recommendation before.

Do clients have to use Claude? No. We recommend best tool for each use case. Some clients use GPT-5 exclusively.

What if I have a ChatGPT enterprise license? We'll work with it. Won't tell you to rip out a working system. If there are gaps, we fill them.

Is Claude more expensive? Depends on tier and volume. Claude Haiku is extremely cost-effective. API pricing is competitive across providers.

What if Anthropic goes out of business? We build model-agnostic systems. If Anthropic disappeared, we'd migrate clients with minimal disruption. That's the point of vendor-agnostic architecture.
